Dying inside after breakup

I followed the no contact rule with my last breakup. The first two weeks were the worst. I cried myself to sleep and repeated a mantra every day that we’d end up back together. Once a month passed and I realized I survived and he hadn’t contacted me either, it became easier. Your ex might get you, but someone else will get you too.

Everything you’re feeling is really normal! Most of us have been through it. I’ve been through it multiple times (with the same partner! I kept going back to him because it was so painful to be broken up and such a relief to get back together, but in the long run I wasn’t doing either of us any favors.) I know it’s so, so hard, but you will make it through this. Keep commenting here every time you want to contact him. We’re here for you!

Here are some tips to get you through the panic:

Also, treat your body well. Drink plenty of water, cut back on caffeine, try to get enough sleep, go for a walk every day, eat more protein and less sugar.

I was an inconsolable mess after my first break-up but I promise it gets better. Self-care is the most important thing for you right now. Be around friends, distract yourself with little things. Time truly does heal.

foodie90 :  I promise there will come a day when you won’t even remember what this pain felt like. Seems impossible now, but it’s true. *Hugs*
