Has anyone dyed lace? Ive seen alot of DIY using tea, but I wasnt sure.
Basically Ive been looking for a Ivory lace bolero for my wedding gown.
I finally found the one I like, HOWEVER its in white, and I need it in Ivory.
I heard that you can dye things using tea bags, but I wasnt sure about white lace.
Think its doable? or just not buy it completely and keep looking again.

it’s definitely doable. either buttons or dolphin did a diy…i can’t remember.
you’ll have to test it on a small piece first to make sure you get the right shade.

Mrs. Dolphin had a post about this with really helpful instructions. Basically she advises boiling 2 teabags in 8 cups of water to make a very weak tea to dye lace. She did the lace for her veil I believe, and it turned out well for her.

Where did u find that bolero at?

Because lace is typically non-natural fiber, it can be hard to dye. I’ve never dyed with tea, but i have used something called Acid Dye on non-natural fabrics.
Ecru might be the color you want?
