We don’t have ours yet but we’re registering for it for our wedding. My Future Brother-In-Law & Future Sister-In-Law have one and we’ve used it a number of times (and by a number of times I mean probably like 25+). I’ve yet to have an issue with theirs and neither have they. If you do have an issue, working with Dyson to get it corrected or a replacement is pretty easy. I’ve known someone who had a piece break and Dyson sent them a new one pretty quickly.

It does its job and thats really all I can ask.

I love mine, it’s lighter than it’s predecessor the DC17 that I used to have. It does feel a little less… sturdy? I attribute that to the ball technology, I’m not used to parts flopping around as I push it! But it seems to be working really well to pull up all the cat hair at my house!

We have the DC 25 Blueprint and it’s amazing. The only problem we had with it was with the tube of the extendo-arm thing snapping off at one time at the spot where it connects to the vacuum, but I’m pretty sure that’s because I had it in there incorrectly. We have fairly deep pile carpets and two enthusiastically shedding pets, so that means great potential to get hairs tangled down deep into the carpet, but the Dyson is so powerful that it sucks all the hair right on out.

For comparison’s sake, we had our house professionally deep-cleaned last week in preparation for my family’s Christmas visit, and while the guy did a marvelous job cleaning every corner of the home, his vacuum was not a Dyson and didn’t do nearly as good a job as we’re used to. He cleaned the house last Wednesday and I actually had to vacuum again on Monday because I could see fur starting to pile up on the stairs.

Plus, there is no comparing to the maneuverability of the ball construction.

I can’t speak for the durability since we’ve had it for only a little over a year, but Dysons are supposed to last for decades, so that’s what we’re hoping.

I love mine, I like how light it is I carry it all around the home and vacuum the car with it. It’s really easy to clean out, and picks up pet hair very well. I don’t even use my dustbuster anymore because it’s so easy and efficient to get dirt and stuff off my stairs. I can see why you think it’s not the most durable, I am a little worried about the plastic on it breaking, but so far so good for me.

We have the DC25 Animal – the purple one.  we LOVEEEEEEE this vacuum!  I dont know if we’ll own anything but a Dyson going forward.  Thing is amazing.  We vacuumed our place before we went and bought it, came home, and vac’d with that and what it picked up was astounding.

I agree that the craftsmanship feels pretty weak, but we’ve had it for nearly a year now and have had no issues with it.

we love ours.  like everyone has said its very light and picks up all dust/dirty very well.  i know it might feel flimsy, but believe me i have banged it into many corners, cabinet bottoms, walls, etc and it has held up well.  if you bang it alot you will get scuff marks but nothing has ever broken off and it still runs great.
