Hey all –
I really need some advice on how to handle this situation.
Last night my Fiance and I had our engagement pics taken by a local photographer who also happens to be an acquaintance of mine. Normally I love and adore her work and was so excited for her to take our e-pics.
Late last night she posted “sneak peeks” of some of our photos from the session on her business Facebook page and I. Hate. Them.
They are cookie-cutter, overly-posed and uncomfortable looking, not to mention lacking somewhat in creativity. They are not al all what I pictured. I wanted e-pics that captured our personalities and these definitely don’t. Just thinking of them now almost brings me to tears again. I had been so excited and now I have no idea what to do.
Now she says she is going to pose more pictures form our session later on in the week, but I don’t really anticipate them being much better. We have had ourselves penciled in on her datebook to be our wedding photographer, but I definitely do not want that to happen. I have found another photographer who has our date open (yipee!) and her equally-priced package includes a complimentary engagement session.
My dilemma is I don’t know how to handle the situation. I know I have to tell her I’m not happy with the pictures, but I don’t know how to approach that. Also, we have already paid for half of the session and pictures and don’t feel like paying the rest for pictures I am not thrilled about.
