I wasn’t overly crazy with my e-pics either. They just weren’t what we were looking for, but they were still awesome pictures. I didn’t like how I looked in them, and I didn’t like how “posey” they were.

That being said, I really liked the vibe with the photog, he’s awesome, and I think he’ll do a great job at the wedding.

And just remember, we’re our own worst critic, I’m sure you looked lovely!

@mnp:

Please do (send me the photos). Oh dear.. i did not have a e-photo shoot sooooooo it’s going to be a complete surprise once i see our wedding pic. I am NOT photogenic, unlike my two beautiful daughters and yes, in many pic i look chubby..so send them away and i will give you my honest oppinion. By the way, if you are not pleases at all, than talk to the photographer or hire another!!! Your wedding pic will show up so many times in your future that u want them to show how happy and beautiful you are, right? Don’t compromise!

The best way to fid a photographer is through recommendations from people you know and finding one that takes photos in the “style” you like ( sounds like you like a more photojournalistic style, not too traditional)…

@mnp:  Oh dear, I’m sorry to hear that. Send me a pic or two?

Where are you getting married?

I was really unhappy with ours too….for the price that I paid, I was expecting to have enough pictures to make our guestbook a photobook.  It was seriously bright and sunny so my fiance looks drugged in most of the pictures, my hair is sticking up in weird places (it was styled same as profile pic…so it is kinda obvious!) and then it was looking really gross from squishing my forehead against him, the poses look horribly unnatural…..and yes, she was the highest priced of the 3, which is why I didn’t even consider her for the wedding – it was just out of our budget and now I am so glad!  We may still try to make the photobook/guestbook if we can get some more decent pictures taken through the friends/family route.

I am doing a bridal session with a different photographer in a different town – so far, I am really excited because of the types of questions he is asking me about what sort of pictures I like and looking to make sure I am happy with what we are going for.

The wedding photographer is a 3rd person and I have spent a good amount of time looking and I like a lot of her pictures….but I think since the bridal session guy asked for the pinterest ideas, I may send her there also – I don’t think it is a terrible idea for them to know what you like and even say “you need to go elsewhere” if that isn’t their style!

Good luck – I know how disappointing it is to keep looking through the album and feeling more and more disappointed as you go 🙁

@mnp:  Is there any way you would be willing to post one or two “normal” pictures and then one or two of the engagement photos for us to see?

@mnp:  That would be nice. I just know how overly critical I can be of myself and photos of myself so it’s always good to get an outsiders view.

Show us your favourite if you want, I’m sure they aren’t as bad as you think!

@mnp:  Feel free to PM me a few! We’re date twins, BTW! 🙂 What is it about the photos that you dislike? Posing, lighting, quality? I would maybe just talk to your photographer and tell them what you don’t like and see if they would be willing to reshoot.

@mnp:  Ok, I looked and there were some really nice ones. I think you should be fine. They didn’t look like your everyday photo you sent but, your hair and makeup were very different. Also, angle makes a HUGE difference. If pictures are taken from below it will almost always create an unflattering apperance but if they are taking from above it tends to create a very flattering apperance. Just make sure whomever you chose for your wedding photographer you make sure you talk to them about the areas you are worried about and about what you do and don’t like beforehand.
