simplicitea:  I’m confused. Why would the side diamonds need to be larger to accommodate a larger center stone? Those diamonds have nothing to do with the size of the center stone. It sounds like he just made that up.

simplicitea:  The odd thing–when I first looked at your pix compared to the original pix I thought your side stones looked smaller…

I hope they will make the ring you want for you!

I think he just made up whatever sounded good to make it seem like it wasn’t a mistake…but there is a huge difference. I prefer the one on the right too…it looks like what I consider shared prong while the ring you have is pave.

I had a similar issue with Blue Nile, they use different manufacturers for their settings. It’s a good thing they have excellent customer service. I sent it back and they fixed the problem. It definetly looks different. Maybe they have different manufacturers Too. Call them and have them fix it. Good luck!

UM…so unprofessional.

For a business that sells valuble things like diamond rings he shoud have immediately took it back in, owned up to it, and gave you exactly what you asked for. You have to talk to him again or his manager and be firm this time

simplicitea:  I see a HUGE difference between the two settings (both are gorgeous, but I saw what you were talking about immediately). The person you talked to is ridiculous…he should’ve just owned up and apologized. If someone who works with jewelry day in and out can’t see the difference in those settings, then they’re in the wrong business. That kind of no-accountability attitude does nothing but tarnish the reputation of the brand.

No no no. You need to be a real hardass with this guy. Tell him that the prong settings are obviously different and that the ring needs to be remade or you want a refund, end of story. If you paid on a credit card you have leverage here. I would show him this thread, let him think about how his company is being portrayed. I can not believe the ridiculous excuses he gave, all of which are untrue.

This is a large purchase and a special one. I’m sorry this is happening.  But you don’t have to settle for something you don’t like! You just need to be more assertive. Good luck!

simplicitea:  After I commented I had a feeling you would tell me his IS the manager haha…that kind of issue would obviously be handled with a manager duhhh. You have the right to be firm with him, no “deliberating” with a team. It’s an obvious mistake, goodluck!

Both rings are lovely, but the settings are very different.  You’re right to be firm about getting what you paid for if you’re not happy, good luck.

Hi.  I hope they fixed your ring and you received the ring you feel in love with.  My question for you is how many ct is your diamond and if you can post a picture of the ring after they fixed it?  I am interested in a similar ring and have been trying to find out the difference between a pettit ring and a pavé ring.  I belive your post has helped me but I am curious if the size of the diamond really affects the ring and how it looks.

The difference is that their photos show the ring in yellow gold. Yours is white gold which blends into the diamonds more
