    @Jasel311:  I say upgrade, so at least you can say you have a 1ct stone. F color doesn’t make a big difference. I have a .77 ct E color, it’s really pretty and sparkles, but it’s not the same whe n you can’t say it s a 1 ct

    @Jasel311:  going up less than a 1/4 carat is not that much difference size wise. your diamond doesn’t look small at all on your hand. have you tried on some halos with similar size stones? If not you should:)

    I think it depends on the ‘kind’ of coverage you want.  I had this exact dilema too before I upgraded.  I realized that the ‘impact’ I wanted was about the coverage on my finger and not the actual size of the stone.  My stone upgrade (.74 to a .97) wouldnt have made much of an impact on its own, so I got a bigger stone AND a halo.  I sacrificed a little on the clarity on my center stone to get both.

    @Jasel311:  Op you have the blessing of you Darling Husband of ten years….. GO for it… Just cuz I’m a solitaire gal I know which way I’d go only cuz I’ve been given the blessing myself to upgrade my center stone, but we are here for you lol

    My advice is to try on different halo rings n then some different solitare princess 1 ct rings… See what speaks to you the most then look at your budget to see what is the best… Even if you add a few dollars to get the upgrade you love, it will be worth it…..some add eternity bands , some of us upgrade existing rings to something new…. Ten years is a milestone so go with the blessings you’ve been given to do this. You’re current ring is stunning I must admit..shows your hubby has great taste Laughing   Good luck n share pics of the choice you made

    @Jasel311:  I understand, like I said, I sacrificed a little on clarity.  Have you looked at halo’s yet?  with the size diamond you have?

    @Jasel311:

    I would say do as you wish, but try not to set arbitrary goals in your mind that keep you from enjoying what is there (which, by the way, is a gorgeous ring) and instead dwell on what could be.

    to increase your budget, could you trade in your setting with the diamonds and use that money towards a simple plain shank setting and bigger centre stone?

    i tend to think that the larger stone won’t be a terribly noticeable difference, while the new halo setting will instantly look larger and give you a new looking setting. i’d choose a halo.

    @Jasel311:  This is just my opinion…I dont have a preference for halo vs solitare, since I’ve had them both, but I think you should do what has the most impact for your money.  If $2200 doesnt bring the stone up to a noticible difference to you, is it worth it?  Only you can decide.  I was thrilled with the finger coverage I got from a halo, maybe you would be too?  Hang in there, and dont drive yourself crazy (like I did, LOL)

    @Jasel311:   I hear you … Sometimes our loved ones are more attached , but if he is game for the upgrade, make it a joint decision doing a ring search together that way you’ll be both happy with it. I understand changing a setting cuz I did this myself.  Halos are  beautiful so if you choose this for yourself and hubby prefers it , yah really can’t go wrong my dear. Youll both be happy.. I’m excited for you n can’t wait to see the end result
