Since we decided to have my e-ring custom designed in July, I have been very involved (i.e. talk to our jeweler five times a week to my SO’s one time) and I have received my last email/pics from him! Now that the ring is back from being “cast”, its going to the “setter” and my SO will be the one to coordinate everything with the jeweler, on his own, from here out!
There were some issues with being able to get exactly what I had envisioned (due to details I wasnt willing to forgoe on the ring) so I am VERY nervous to not see the final ring until the day he proposes. I know it wont happen before the holidays because we still have another few weeks to complete. But I’m very excited and just had to share the news with someone! (SO wants to keep all my involvement/knowing on the down low from family/friends)
First pic is the ring fresh from casting (no milgrain, diamonds, etc), and the second is what we used to model my ring after, but with thinner band, more prominent “basket” setting and diamonds 3/4 around band. Both pics shown with my actual diamond.
First time postrer – thanks for letting me share!

I posted already on your post in the waiting board, but I’m in the same boat as you! My SO and I chose the ring together. We bought our stone a little while ago… I know that this week he is sending the stone to be set! I will also not get to see the finished ring until he proposes! I am so excited!!!
Congrats, your ring is gorgeous!

@DeathByDesign: That is so exciting! Any idea on when he wants to pop the question? I know for a fact that holidays are too early..but my SO cant keep any secret and told me to expect it in Jan…I told him any month early next year is a-ok..as long as he has the ring!

@prncss47: Yeah the holidays are too early for us too, since the ring will not be done for at least a couple more weeks. I’m thinking it’s gotta be some time in January or February that he’ll finally ask though! Looks like we’ll be getting engaged around the same time! 😉

Hahaha I didn’t scroll down at first, and I was thinking “my god, I loooove how clean, modern, and different her ring is!” and then realized yours is the second one (which is gorgeous, too, but I have a freakish affinity for bold, modern jewelry). Guess i’d save a lot of money by wanting the “before” pic!
