Sounds like it’s “LORD forbid” he go into debt for anything, not just your ring! Is it absolutely impossible that he’s socking $ away secretly? Maybe trying to throw you off the trail?

hmmm…this is a hard one to read. Did his tone suggest that he wouldn’t want to go in to debt for the ring or did it suggest that he was surprised that you assumed that he wouldn’t finance the ring? I know what you mean about getting disappointed every time he spends a lot. My bf doesn’t make much and I don’t want a big ring, but I do want something decent. Lately he keeps suggesting we go out to fancy restaurants, etc. The other night I actually said, “don’t you want to stay in and save some money?” and he responded “no. why?” I wanted to scream! lol! I guess it is best just to leave it up to them…

@LadyTegan: Yeah that’s what I was going to say–seems more like he’s talking about debt in general than the ring specifically.

@FlutterbyBee: I think boys take a lot more pride in the ring then we give them credit for. He probably realizes the ring is important to you and is willing to finance it if need be to get you something pretty! Yay! As a side note, it looks like we may both be Georgia brides ( live in the ATL and I see that you are from Mayberry)

I read that sarcastic comment as, “The ring is only $600, so why the heck would I have to go into debt at all? Are you insulting me by saying if I spent $300 on a deck, I wouldn’t have $600 in cash left?”
