Fiance and I have been engaged for a year and a half. When we first got engaged, I wasn’t sure I wanted a diamond, because there were a lot of things we needed to pay for rather than compressed carbon. We settled on a moissy because of that and I loved the fire. Fast forward to now, and my moissy has done me a great service, but I got a great deal on a 1.01 ct. diamond that would fit in my setting. I received it in the mail today and….Bees, I don’t think I’ve ever been so in love with an inanimate object. I haven’t gotten it set yet, so I took a side by side picture. Of course my moissy wasn’t even trying to be brilliant today — probably because it knows it’s being moved to a necklace or earring set.
Old Stone Specs: Schubachs, 6.5 mm (1 ct equivalent), Forever Brilliant RB
New Stone Specs: Blue Nile, 1.01 ct., G color, IF clarity, Excellent Cut (Ex Cut, Ex Polish, VG symmetry)

Hahaha, that made me smile. Congrats, it looks beautiful!!

Wow, the moissanite looks so dull compared to the diamond in the holder!
Congrats on the new gem 🙂

There is no comparison to a real diamond 🙂 so glad you are happy, enjoy your beautiful stone!

I love diamonds too but really, that isn’t true. It’s a mental thing that we’ve been conditioned to believe and I’m pretty sure if we didn’t know the difference, we’d mistake moissanite & CZ all the time for diamond as it is just as sparkly and beautiful if well cut and polished.

I absolutely disagree- nice Diamonds do not carry the yellow tint of a nice moissanite.

Congrats on your beautiful new diamond! There’s really no comparison, it just blows your Moissy away.

Love your new diamond! It doesn’t hold a candle to the moissy. Beautiful upgrade.

Gorgeous! Congrats on the upgrade 🙂

Aww, congrats on the upgrade! What a cute, sparkly diamond! That’s why I just can’t respect the whole moissanite thing… there’s truly no comparison! Even a diamond somewhat outside the colorless range like yours (G-I) looks so much better than a moissanite.

Looks great! Post more pics!

I only had it for about an hour before I took it to get it set, so pictures are pretty limited. It broke my heart because the diamond is 6.4 mm across (according to the ratchet measuring job of the guy at the jewelers — the GIA report says 6.52) and the moissy is 6.5 mm across so they said there’s a chance they can’t make it work.
Anyway, back to pictures.

because the centerstone is set in prongs I think it’ll work just fine. Lovely stone!
