sarahdaviss :  It’s pretty but very large.  Everyone will know it’s a diamond simulant. Don’t allow that to sway you though,  if you like it that’s all that really matters…

Is it too big? Well that’s a matter of personal opinion. I’m sure you would definitely get full finger coverage

That’s going to depend on the width of the halo. The center stone alone will not cover the entire width of your finger. No one will think it is a diamond if that is what you are going for as moissy performs best around a 1 ct equivalent.

If you want more finger coverage I would add side stones instead of making the center stone bigger. As PP said, everyone will know it’s not a diamond.

mrstodd2bee :  OP did not even ask about if the ring is believable as a diamond. Why say everyone will know it’s a simulant and then proceed to say “don’t allow that to sway you”? Odd…

alessia :  Major moissanite manufacturers advertise moissanite as a diamond substitute. OP may not want her stone to look exactly like a diamond, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility. Therefore, I think posters here are offering relevant information that could apply to OP’s considerations.

It is 9mm then for the center stone, right?  9mm plus that halo will not cover a size 9 from side to side.  I wear a size 7 and have a 10mm stone with a similar sized halo and it still does not give full finger coverage.  You will need to up the stone size quite a lot of you wnat the top of you finger fully covered.  This is 10mm plus a halo on a 7.

sarahdaviss :  you need to leave room for at least a wedding band though. Maybe try an east to west set marquise or oval.

lucreziab :  normally I’d agree, but this poster exclusively posts things like that in moissanite threads about how moissanite and diamonds are different and everyone can tell- even when that’s not the topic or question. And then throw in a variation of “beautiful ring though!” OP is only asking about coverage and happened to say it’s moissanite she’s looking at. She’s not asking about passing it as a diamond.
