@ChuckNorris:  more anonymous/smaller than FB. Most of the people I follow/follow me are blog friends and celebrities, not ppl I know IRL. Basically, if something is pissing me off, I go to twitter. I don’t puke all over my FB wall with it, ya know? 😉

@ChuckNorris:  yeah my mom is just hyper-sensitive, especially when it comes to her children being in pain in any way. So weirdly specific! I think the not allowing me to tell anybody thing is to avoid for me the pain she went through. It’s sweet, but wayyy overblown…She wouldn’t let me get my ears pierced “because she knew it would hurt”. Yeah for like .. 2 seconds. Thanks mom.  in fact she has accepted that she will not be allowed anywhere near the room when I am giving birth becasue she would like .. chase down the anesthesiologist to give me the epidural even though I would rather try not to get one. Lol, moms 😛   It sure would be annoying if I felt differently (because if I were to tell her earlier than 12 weeks she would be more pissed off and scared than excited so obviously I won’t…) but luckily I’m fine with waiting.

I voted pregnancy test, but I realized that one of my friends posted that they were trying (unsuccessfully) to get pregnant…which caused a lot of drama because they’d just gotten back together after a long split after their first child and were “trying to make it work” and thought having a baby right away would be good for them. I haven’t checked to see if they are pregnant yet…but last time I checked she was complaining about him.

One of my friends changed her PROFILE picture to all four of her pregnancy tests lined up and then posted pictures of her at 4, 8, and 12 weeks pregnant respectively. (in her defense, she wrote she’s just chubby and knew she wasn’t showing).

Yup I looked and she posted the pregnancy test. She’s like 5.5 weeks and I am SOOO jealous. Although she’s living in someone’s garage, so I’m not jealous of that, nor would I want to try to get pregnant if I didn’t have a place to live, but whatever works for her. I won’t be posting until around 12-16 weeks for facebook and telling family/friends around 6-8 weeks or right away depending on who. A couple friends know we’re trying so they’ll know really soon after.

@ChuckNorris:  your mom sounds like mine! She found out about my BFP one day after I got it as I ended up in hospital and was very shocked she didn’t know about it already and that we were TTC without her knowing!

I don’t plan on announcing on FB it just seems a little smug/self congratulatory for my taste. People will find out soon enough through the grape vine or a picture posted by someone else..

I got a pee-stick notice which was odd… Especially as she wrote:  “Can’t wait to see Johnboy’s face when I tell him later!!”  I didn’t announce my pregnancy on FB, but was outed around 4 months by my cousin who still cringes about it bless her.

Twice I’ve seen positive tests posted, but most people on my fb post after the first trimester. Of the two BFP POS, one was a MC and the other went to term.

I saw a pee stick on my FB feed two weeks ago. I swear it was still wet when she uploaded it. Then she went for an ultrasound and she was barely 4 weeks and posted that too. Uh huh.

This same girl was posting 2 min updates when she was in labour last time around… so when she stopped updating, we all knew she was pushing. The LAST thing I’d want to do while in labour would be updating my FB. Seriously…

I love looking at the TTC boards on the bee, there’s so much support, and I LOVE seeing the FRER’s etc (look at me, I’m not TTC and I know the lingo! lol) but on FB? Um, not so much.

One of my good friends announced on fb at 6 weeks with both her pregnancies, but she was only connected with close friends and family, so that wasn’t such a big deal to me. And no pee sticks!

One posted at 5 weeks. Waaaaay early and goes into too much detail about everything ” I am the size of a pea And I love swimming in mommies amniotic fluid!”      The other postetithe morning after her wedding about how she’s glad morning sickness didn’t ruin the day before …..   Ugh

I’ve no idea what’s the earliest I’ve seen. I know someone who never even mentioned her pregnancy on FB at all, but she’s not on there much. In general, people seem to wait until around the three month mark. I announced with an ultrasound pic at 13w4d.

A friend posted right after her bfp but to be fair it was a link to her blog and her purpose was to shed light on the whole process, and that it wasn’t shameful to lose a baby so we shouldn’t keep it secret.  She DID end up losing that pregnancy and is pregnant again.

Most of my friends on Facebook are people I went to highschool with and so we’re all still pretty young and not having babies haha, but this one girl I used to be friends with in highschool posted the other day that she was pregnant. Everyone asked how far along and she had no clue because she hadn’t been to the doctor yet. It turned out that she was four weeks when she posted that, she didn’t post the test though.

I have seen people post as soon as they know they are pregnant, too. To each her own, but I’d be too paranoid I’d lose it before 12 weeks.

I’ve seriously seen people post wet pee sticks. Gross. I also have people who have that Baby GaGa app that posts in their newsfeed and I find it extra gross – like “Baby is pooping in the amniotic fluid this week!”

We let it slip at like 10-ish weeks but this was after three great doctor’s appointments, two ultrasounds, and the heartbeat on a Doppler. Plus there was a lady at our church who found out on accident and was telling EVERYONE so we felt like it was our only chance to tell people ourselves. If she hadn’t started blabbing we would’ve waiting until 13 weeks.
