I’m kind of mid-to-late May, but I’m planning to send them the first week of March. We have to get a head count to our caterers two weeks in advance, so I’m asking that the RSVPs return by April 23rd (gives me a little time to track down the people who don’t RSVP!).

Wedding May 21.  We are mailing invites on March 30 and RSVP’s are due on April 29th.

We actually finished the invitations over the holidays.  They are all ready for stamps!

@ Aunt pol…I would say you should be fine.  Rule is anywhere 6-8 weeks out.  We’re going with the 6 week because our out of towners have already made plans to be here and I think if you tell people too soon, they forget.  That’s just my opinion.  From reading on here, I think it varies from the area you are from.

We had to have our count in considerably early for our venue and then we found that our options for our after party site varied greatly depending on the number of people.  Along with some other reasons we decided to be crazy and sent them out in December.  The response actually was good, and people have actually thanked us for the early heads up.  I already have over 20 RSVP cards back even!

Normally I would say people would probably send them out in late Feb. early March.  I say do whatever works best for you!  As for the RSVP date, it seems the earlier the better works best.

I just approved my proofs and my invites are being printed as we speak! So exciting.

We are sending them out the first week of March and have an RSVP date of April 10th. I made it a full month prior to my wedding date (May 14th) so i would have time to order the correct amount of place cards, programs, favors, etc and not be rushed.

I only did this because my sister did the standard 2 weeks prior to the wedding date and was tracking people down litterally 10 days prior while trying to get a head count to the venue. It was stressful!

we were planning on sending our invitations out march 18th with an rsvp date of april 18th. we have to give our final head count to our venue may 2nd so we have 2 weeks to track people down.

question regarding invitations- how are you ladies wording your response cards when it comes to your food options? are you just saying beef or chicken? or are you writing out the full description of your dish?

Invites for our May 1st wedding will go out February 21st with an RSVP date of April 11th.  Gives our guests about 6 weeks or so with the invites and is three weeks before our wedding date.

Wow, that’s kinda soon, isn’t it?  Yikes!

We are making our own invitations- I am in the process of printing them a little at a time. Wedding is May 21, invitations going out around March 30th- RSVPs due May 1 or so! ๐Ÿ™‚ We don’t have to have a final head count in to the venue and caterer until 2 weeks before.

I think my friend was right when she told me I sent invites too soon.  Then again, it’s a destination wedding and people need to book flights.  I sent mine the first week of January with a Feb 14th RSVP date.  I’ll start harassing people Feb 21st ๐Ÿ˜‰

Invites are going out 1st week in March, with an RSVP of APril 8th.

Even though our wedding is in Jamaica, we’ve  sent out save the dates a year in advance with travel information, our wedding website with information, and several other communications in between. I know the rule is to send things out early for a destination wedding, but we figured at this point folks will know if they are able to make the trip or not. ๐Ÿ™‚
