Hello All. After months andmonths of trying we finally got a BFP!! YAY!! no insues all the worrying and questions about the first mnth or so of pregnancy, and wating to get to that first drs appt….ugh! I have read that spotting is normal w/ first trimester of pregnancy. I am spotting right now its pink or brown and its just when i wipe, i had some minor cramping, but that has since stopped for now. I gues my question is does anyone know if you might spot more when you have PCOS bc of the cysts? i havent been offcially diagnosed, but all my drs seem to think i do have it. I am waiting for my dr to call me back just to put me at ease, but waiting for a dr to call back is kinda like watching water boil………seems like foreverer!!! thank you for any responses! 🙂

@mrsw5711: I am not saying this to scare you whatsoever, but I also have PCOS and got a BFP back in April. I had slight spotting, brownish and reddish pink, also some cramping. We got our BFP on a Thursday, cramps and spotting started Saturday and I miscarried that Monday.
We have since got a BFP in July, and we are a healthy 16 weeks along. I did not have any spotting, though lots of cramping as my uterus was stretching.
You could be experienceing implantation bleeding, but it is hard to say. I would wait to hear back from your Doctor (did you go have blood work done to test HCG levels?) I have never heard of spotting more because of cysts..
Good luck, I hope everything is fine!

First off congrats!!! Secondly, I have pcos and last year I miacarried with some spotting at about 8 weeks. I am currently almost 32 weeks pregnant and I also had spotting early on in this pregnancy. This time I actually mistaked my spotting for my period and so didn’t even find out I was pregnant until I was 8 weeks along. So what does this all mean about people with PCOS? I don’t know but know that not all bleeding ends in miscarriage! H&H 9 months!!

My cousin has PCOS! She had VERY severe cramping/spotting from weeks 3-7. She was TERRIFIED she was about to lose her baby, but she’s 15 weeks along and doing great so far!

I have PCOS. My doctors office never came out & told me directly that i was pregnant. THey just said that my levels were going up and thats a good thing. Then on a Friday while I’m at work something didnt feel right and I ran to the bathroom. It looked like i had a full-fledge period, lots of bleeding & passed clots, couldnt even keep a ultra tampon in for more than 3 minutes before it was soaked, including adding a pad. This went on for 15 minutes. I finally called the drs office who said as long as i wasn’t having any pain i should be fine. Just keep an eye on the bleeding, if it continous to be heavy and if i have any pain to go to the ER right away. They scheduled me for an ultrasound Monday afternoon. I went there and everything was fine. They didn’t think it was implenation bleeding, more like, i had “extra stuff” in there that my uterus was just expelling.
So hopefully you have the samthing as me.. just extra stuff thats making it way out. I’m almost at 5 months with no problems 🙂
Good Luck!! & hugs!

@mrsw5711: I’m a PCOS Mumma-to-be. I had plenty of cramping, but no spotting. Every woman is different and spotting is quite common with or without pre-existing conditions. If you become really concerned about it then don’t hesitate to contact your Dr.
