FI found three Bed Bath and Beyond boxes on our doorstep today! Now the question is, what do I do with them? My shower isn’t until another month now, and my wedding is at the end of April. So I’m assuming that these are shower gifts.
If someone sent them to my house, one would assume that means they aren’t coming to the shower? (To be clear the date of the shower is not a surprise, but I dont know anything else)
Am I allowed to unwrap these presents now? Or should I take them with me and unwrap them at the shower? (btw-FI says one of the boxes is huge and heavy, so that might be difficult)
What if I unwrap them now, and then the gift giver shows up at the shower expecting to see me upwrap their gift?
How am I supposed to handle this?? Help!!

@bwbBride: Fi did open the boxes and the gifts inside are wrapped and have small bed bath and beyond cards with the guest’s names, but not a real card. So we know who they are from but thats it!

If is was a shower gift and was sent to your home then they must not be attending the shower and if its a wedding present it doesn’t matter either way so just open it just remember to send a Thank You.

Open it now and send a thank you before the shower. Your gift-giver will appreciate knowing the gift arrived on time and intact.

Technically, ettiquette states that gifts are supposed to be mailed to the bride and groom ahead of the wedding, not brought TO the wedding… So, there is a good chance it is a wedding gift if your invitations have already gone out.
Just open it. Send a thank you note.
