Since I am so busy on election day and sometimes not even in the state, I always vote absentee.  My mom and son have already voted and Darling Husband is going in the morning on his way to work.  Darling Husband very often works 7/12s and he doesn’t like to take a chance that he will not be able to make it to the polls so he usually early votes.

I’ve voted absentee before, and this time I’m probably going to vote early since on election day I have a 2 hour drive after work and would prefer not to wake up uber early to go to the polls. I think it’s great that these options are available, and I hate that I live in a state that has been in the news for trying to limit early voting opportunities.

I’ve done it before a couple times when I was going to away from home on voting day.  It’s been a good experience, but normally I go to the polls when I can.

I vote by absentee ballot since I am away from school. Should be getting my ballot Wednesday!

I voted absentee while away at school.  Now, GA offers early voting (I think it started last week) at a few poll locations so I will probably try to vote early to avoid the crowds on election day.

I’ve gone to the advanced polls before.  The timing was better, and Darling Husband had to go early because he was all over the place with work on voting day.  I will probably do it again, although probably not for every election.

Hello for Florida!  We also allow absentee ballots to anyone for any/no reason.  Plus, we have early voting for up to a week before Election Day.  I prefer to vote on Election Day for the Presidential Election years because I feel like I am a part of tradition.

However, this year I am volunteering for the campaign so I won’t have time.  I ordered an absentee ballot but I plan to vote early this coming Sunday because I will already be at the early voting locationsign waiving.  Plus, our ballot is 2 pages front and back due to 10(!) state constitution amendments so lines are expected to be long on Election Day.

Here in Oregon we all mail our ballots.  🙂

Unfortunately, our SOS in Michigan is against early voting. You CAN get absentee ballots for one of six reasons (though our SOS is in favor of no-reason absentee), but if you’ve never voted here before, you HAVE to either vote in person, or apply for your absentee ballot in person. This makes me want to bash my head against a wall, since, short of taking off work (not an option for some), there’s no way to do this, since the county clerk’s office is only open 8-4:30 M-F.

I find this so convenient, you fill out your ballot at home, research the issues with the ballot right in front of you and really feel informed. I’m surprised that almost no one I know takes advantage of it!

I would love this so much.

I voted absentee when I was at school, but this year I just went to the polls to early vote. This year I was also more informed than last time, though, so that definitely made a difference!

I like early voting because it’s quick, but I would not prefer an absentee ballot. I like the whole process of voting, including going to the polling stations!

They switched us to all mail ballots, but I don’t remember when…  All I know is that when I first started voting, I went to the polling centers.  Now they just come in the mail, but I have to have a stamp (or drive to the drop-off box somewhere inconvenient).  I do like that we can vote anytime ahead of time, and that the info pamphlet comes at the same time so you can reference that while you’re filling out the ballot.  Before it was like a test, I would skim the info then go vote.  I suppose I could have brought it with, but I was young and didn’t think about it!  And bonus, now there is no line to stand in or wait to vote – so no excuses (except not having a stamp…)
