Cape Cod is pricey but so nice– not quite the same tropical feel as Florida, but you definitely get some beautiful beaches! Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket are the most popular, but Provincetown is a very cool, artsy place that’s often overlooked.

I can’t speak for Virginia & Delaware, but we are taking a fall New England trip.  We’re flying into Buffalo & checking out Niagara Falls for a day, hitting the road and stopping somewhere for a night.  Then, I rented a cabin in New Hampshire for 4 nights, which we will day trip out of.  Then the last two days we’re sightseeing in Boston.

Rhode Island is beautiful If you like the beach! Plenty to do and see! Also Maine is gorgeous all year round if you’re the rustic type! and if you have passports a trip to the Canadian side could be devine!

Assoteague Island–the one with the wild horses.

Cape May is also very nice. It’s a ferry ride away from Lewes, DE.

Martha’s Vineyard is nice, but a little pricy.

Cape May, Martha’s Vineyard/Nantucket, Bar Harbor are some of my favorites and very doable while pregnant 🙂

Delaware beaches are quite nice,  my parents lived near the beach for a while after retiring.  I would also suggest any of the lake regions in NY-adirondacks, finger lakes, etc.  All are beautiful!

Virignia is beautiful! I’ve been around the Charlottesville area twice and I love it. It’s a great place to visit if you are interested in history too (Monticello, Mount Vernon, Williamsburg, Jamestown, etc).

I don’t know if this is North enough for you but one of my favorite vacations was at Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. It’s absolutely gorgeous and there’s a lot to do. Happy Vacation Planning!

brunette7285:  I was gonna chime in with Charlottesville too! But I’m from there so I might be a little biased.

Savannah, GA is one of my favorite places on the East Coast. Perfect Southern everything. Asheville, NC is another lovely place, similar to Charlottesville in some ways since it’s also a fun college town. Plus you could visit the Biltmore Estate and pretend you live there. At leat that’s what I do when I visit super fancy houses!
