I’m stumped on food for Fiance, myself and whomever else is around (likely family showing up early) on the day of the wedding. I’d like to have stuff at the venue, so that we can nibble and not worry about. Ideally – this has to be food that can sit out and not spoil – and be either easily transportable and/or something that can be picked up.
I don’t like the idea of sandwiches and/or cold cuts. So far all I can think about is a fruit platter and crackers/cheese.
What are you planning and/or what did you have available for the few hours pre-ceremony??

If you’re going to be hanging out at the venue before the wedding I’d consider yeah snacks – maybe catered from like panera, chick fla, noodles & co, or a grocery store. Someone could go pick up some pasteries or bagels plus chips and fruit too.

Some cateriers will offer to do this.
They usually get thier really early to start setting up and some will offer to bring a platter of food with them to give you as soon as they get there. Then you can munch and not have to worry about it. Of course you do have to pay for this, but sometimes it is not too much and can be worth it.

I probably won’t eat the day of. I will be to nervous and busy. But I have already given instructions for the guys to go out to eat before they come to the venue. If my Fiance doesn’t eat something, I am afraid he might pass out.

@peacegrl099: That is a really good idea. Maybe I will talk to our caterer to see if they will give me a fruit/veggy tray.

So much for this! I just talked to our venue and they aren’t letting us bring in outside food (I knew this already, but I figured it was more for the reception than us pre-wedding). Glad I asked…. if you are brining food to your venue – make sure you ask first!

Our caterer brings sandwiches, drinks, and snacks for the wedding party to nibble on while they get ready. You might want to ask if yours can put something together.
I get what a lot of brides say about being too nervous/busy to eat. But I am an eater, so I am sure I will be STARVING.

@Rgeddy: mmmm Panera!
What about bagels and have different jams out, or sit a cream cheese container or indiviudal packets in a bowl of ice.

Yeah, I was thinking bagels would be a good idea. Maybe some pretzels too – won’t get any cheeto-y prints on anything. Maybe some granola bars as well.

You can proabably stock up on easy no-stain foods before the wedding and put them in a back to munch on (pretzels, bottles of water, bagels, etc)
As for us, we’re getting breakfast catered (panera!!!!) and then for lunch after ceremony, its McD for us!

lol for my friend’s wedding myself and another friend (not in BP) went and got McD for everyone…12 girls and $28 later we got burgers and fries for everyone!
