I am in a wedding next Sat and I need to do my hair. Some background:
- hair is long, to about my shoulder blades
- it is stick straight and will not hold a curl
- I would like it to be pulled back, at least half way
Does anyone have easy DIY hairdos that would work for me? Please give suggestions!

What I’ve done before that’s easy and elegant is pull my hair back into a ponytail (can be low, medium, high, whatever) and then I take probably 1/4″ sections of the ponytail, twist until it twists up on itself and then pin with an open bobby pin. I keep doing that until all of the hair coming out of the ponytail is twisted into a pretty bun with a lot of texture. It’ll definitely stay in place all night. You can make the front more interesting by braiding part of it back into the ponytail, pulling a few strands out to frame your face, or tease it a bit to the hair isn’t flat against your head. I tried to google to find an example, but I can’t see one I’m thinking of. I have a photo on my computer at home I can upload later if you’re interested.

@HoneyBear: THIS was a life saver just now. My girls are having a hard time with money, so I’m trying to find out how we can DIY the hair, and they LOVED this article! We will try these on Saturday. Thanks!!
