Hello ladies, its summer! so usually if I have the weekend off and it is going to be nice day outside we wake up at 8. My husband packs our kayaks while I shove fruit and bars and water into our bag and we leave by 9 and get to our local lake by 945 am. When we get there I am so amazed to find families with full on table covers, and grills, grilling food!! I know there is no camping there so people are not spending the night. How are they doing this? How do they get ready so quick?
Do you have your picnic stuff ready already in your car so all you have to do is put in a cooler of whatever you are cooking and leave?
Do you have easy and quick picnic recipies?

I’m guessing families are up earlier than 8 (little kids like to be up early) and are possibly out the door by the time you are getting moving.
Also, packing up everything the night before could contribute too. Whenever my husband and I go out to places like this we pack everything up the night before so all we have to do is pull a few things out of the fridge, put it into a cooler, throw the cooler in the car and go (takes 10 minutes).
We usually just do sandwhiches for picnics.

We do it! There is a park near us with grills built in and having a preasembled storage tote with charcoal, lighter, foil, plates, cups, etc just waiting in the wings is the only way I could do it and coordinate dogs, kids, and such. Hubby is a dear and handles loading that and our small cooler.
When we get home, we just wash the plates and do some minor clean ups and then you just pop the lid back on the tote and put it away for next time.
