I went to the tailor with a fellow bride to get her 1st alterations. This women was no fuss and to the point. we loved her. She had one of those grandmother authoritarian personialities that you just do what she says because you know its best. Among the many awesome things she helped with that afternoon and I wanted to share her final words of advice.
she ended the afternoon by grabbing my friend on the way out and asked “do you lose or gain weight when your stressed” to which my friend responded with I lose weight. The tailor responded with “Oh don’t you dare! you are gorgeous and if you have the choice between eating dessert or not, eat dessert”
My friend was so relieved at that appointment. She is perfect but felt the pressure to “be your best skinniest, most in shape self” that many brides feel when in fact most of us are probably most comfortable as is without some diet.
So take the advice of the tailor and eat cake.

I forgot to add something else she said that was awesome! She also said, she sees a lot of women go on these diets before their wedding and just end up not filling out the dress and spending hundred of dollars more in alterations when they looked great $200 ago. She said you bought the dress because you looked great it in at your current weight so when you take off 20 plus pounds the dress doesn’t look the same.
I’ll take her word on it since this woman has altered hundreds of dresses. 🙂

Great advice! It’s more important to be healthy than a certain size. When I was thinner I ate a lot of junk food and had no mucles. lol Now, I have filled out, I eat better, and I always get compliments about my glowing skin.

Good advice, thanks for sharing! I have always been jealous of those that lose weight when they are stressed. I unfortunately am the CHOCOLATE!!!! BACON!!!! PASTA!!! ICE CREAM!!! stressed out type.
