Good for you girl… that is great to hear! I plan to buy a treadmill soon because I work two jobs and never have time to go to the gym anymore. I will be sure to drink MORE water and eat more frequest meals! Thanks!

@LukesGirl:

Thanks! I am an average size girl… (5’7″, 145lbs) so I don’t want to lose more than 10 lbs, I mostly want to tone! I will work on it all 🙂

I’m no expert on fitness, but if you add a work out routine to this, that is not enough food – especially protein.

add a hardboiled egg to your breakfast, hummus to dip your carrots in, peanut butter with your apple, etc.  you’ll be better able to support a workout routine with the addition of some complex carbs and protein.

just a thought!

That’s exactly what I did when I wanted to lose a few lbs.  It totally works.  You just have to plan ahead and be dedicated to it.  I learned that if you don’t plan ahead, prepare some of the food ahead of time, then chances are you’ll end up having to find something while you’re on the run and that usually never turns out right.  I’m sure there are others that have a crazy ‘catch me if you can’ schedule like I do, if so, be sure to always pack a healthy snack in your purse!

I eat at least 5 times a day, sometimes 6, and it seems to be the only thing that keeps my weight down =]. But I eat heavier meals than you because i work out more. I really like it because if i eat too much, i get all sloggish at my desk and lose all motivation and energy. Another perk =]

I’ve been doing the same thing, only problem is eating that often is making me not hungry AT ALL so I have been getting no where near enough calories.  Food that is good for you doesn’t have as many calories as bad food, so I calculated and I have only been getting around 1100 calories a day (unless I cheated).  I actually went and saw a nutritionist yesterday (it’s included for free with my health insurance, yay highmark) and she recommended I just turn my “snacks” into “mini meals”.  So instead of just eating an apple, add a protein and a good carb to it.

That and my other problem was not eating after working out.  I just don’t want to.  The idea of food makes me feel gross after a hard workout.  Well, thats just BAD.  After a hard workout is when my body needs food most (and will get the best use out of it).

The nutritionist said if I can get myself up to 1500 calories a day I’ll probably actually start losing a TON more weight…we’ll see I guess!
