It was a great movie but ewwwww….why did she end up with that guy in the end??? I was really happy when she denied his offer and thought for sure she was going to get back with James Franco but….no 🙁

Are you KIDDING? Javier Bardem is one of the most handsome men I’ve ever seen!!

Well, it’s a true story. She is now married to the brazilian guy in real life.

@cakegal: True, good point! I loved the book.

See I never knew this was a true story. Makes it that much better!

I would highly recommend reading the book. It is lightyears better than the movie and gives you so much more information about the backround that leads to all of her decisions.

I read the book first and really enjoyed it, and I thought the movie was a huge letdown. You should read the book if you liked the movie. It’s soooo much better!

Javier Bardem is HOT
James Franco in the movie was such a loser

I thought the book was terrible! Haha! I love reading, and bought it as soon as it came out and could barely get through it. I tried reading it again and hated it, again. Her writing style is absolutely terrible to me!
I liked the movie though. Javier Bardem = Sex on a Stick.

Wow, I am so surprised with everyone’s attraction to him! Oh well, to each their own! And yes, James Franco was a loser in the movie.

- Wedding: May 2011 - Bartram's Garden
I have no desire to see the movie, but I agree that Javier Bardem is HAWT.

@Linz1231: I’m with you! We may be the only two women in the world that feel this way.
One chapter in and all I could think was “Get over yourself! It’s not all about you.” Never could figure out why it took her three countries to come to that conclusion.

The book was AMAZING, but I’ve gotta agree with OP as far as the guy. Not my type…his head is just too big or something? I dk. James Franco WAS a loser, but to me is still a lot more attractive.

I completely agree that she is full of herself. I enjoyed the actual stories (eat pray love and commited) when I got past that part.
