Hello everyone! As you all know, I bought a second dress from an Ebay seller so that I wouldn’t have to wear my actual wedding gown for my bridal portrait. Mom and I thought it would be fun to have pictures of me in a totally different dress, something more fashionable and chic than my traditional, romantic wedding dress. I bought from a seller (and if you PM me I will tell you her name, but i want to refrain from making it public). I spent $159 and that included shipping. It was super easy and I sent her my perfect measurements. Well, It was too small in the chest, too big in the waist, and much too small in the hips. This was a knock off to Jim Hjelm 8800, that beautiful trumpet dress that I simply couldn’t afford. Anyways, i think with some spanx and some artful hand and body arranging due to my photographer, we’ll be able to hide all the alterations my mom had to do in order to make it fit. It’s still 5 inches too short unfortunately. So, here are the pictures.

The ones of me IN the dress and the close up of the hip alteration are the ones after my mom altered it. If you look closely you can see the difference.
Keep in mind i had a huge plate of pizza before this, LoL. I think some Spanx will help smooth it out. Overall, it’s not a smooth fit though. I think without a corset back and some serious seamstress work it would never have fit completely flush to my body.
If you go with this sort of lacy dress, I would advice skipping the lace unless you don’t mind the mesh flower appliques. They dont’ look bad, but they aren’t lace! If you have any Q’s, feel free to message me! Over all i’m fine with the experience. VERY grateful it is not my real wedding dress. I included a picture of me in my REAL wedding dress, just so you know.
Also the JH version.

The dress looks great…. If you don’t mind be asking what seller did you use? And does she have a online store. I’m thinking about ordering a dress next month but I want to use a reliable source.

Hi, thanks for posting the pictures and telling us about your experience. I’m going to keep researching and i’ll keep in mind about your advice on the lace. I guess the simple the better. thanks!
