I’ve been slowly collecting/buying items for the wedding. One of the things I’ve been looking at buying forever is a Nuremberg Bridal Cup, it’s a beautiful story!
It’s a part of German wedding tradition and the Fiance is half German so that was one of the traditions we wanted to include. I really wanted to toast with the bridal cup rather than the traditional champagne toasting flutes.
But anyone who has search for one knows how $$$$ they are!!! They average at $100+ each for the generic ones that I find kinda gaudy. I found one that was really nice and simpler but it was $150+. More than we want to spend.
So like any good thrifty shopper I’ve been checking eBay.
I found one!!!
And we paid less than $20!!!! SCORE!
It’s obviously a used one (or vintage if you want to be fancy). Anyway, hopefully the condition is as good as the pic. I’m confident we can polish it and sterilize, etc.
Have you gotten something off eBay for your wedding that was WAY cheaper than you could hope for?? Do share!

Nice find! That is a very cool bridal cup!
No, I actually did not buy anything from ebay for the wedding. I did search for a few things but didn’t find what I was looking for.

Yay! It arrived today! The condition is pretty accurate to the picture. No biggie, totally fixable!
I’ve literally been looking since March of 09. 🙂 It pays to keep looking on eBay!

We’re planning on buying disposable cameras for the wedding from ebay. They price out to be 2.88 each which is a steal compared to most and we can pick any “theme” we want for the outside.

I actually got my veil from ebay for $15! I was kind of skeptical, but figured if it was awful what was $15? I was pleasantly surprised when it got here that it was really nice! 🙂
I’ve never heard of this tradition before, but the cup looks really cool!

have you tried drinking out of this cup yet. My favorite person, my grandma, was born in Germany and I would love to incorporate something German in the wedding especially since she passed away a few years ago. But it looks difficult to drink out of… lol. I feel like I would make a mess, how has it worked out for you?

My friend had a cup like this at her wedding. There’s some trick to drinking out of it but it was a neat tradition to see her and husband participate in at the reception.
