We didn’t really do a theme. It was more like, “stuff we like”. I’m also not very crafty, most of our decor was just our decor from home! (like a mirror, centerpieces, chairs, side table etc.) ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m doing an elegant/vintage theme. Our colors are wine, mauve, and gold. There’s going to be lots of glitter. I also love beauty and the beast. I’m working clocks, candelabras, and tea pots into my decor.

ours is a stuff we like theme too… although there is a running theme of animals too… the cake topper is a unicorn and a bear (i love ponies and will be arriving on horse back and he dresses up as a bear as a performance art thing) The pinata is a 2 headed creature half bear half unicorn. there will be bunny statues all over the headland marking the “aisle” and also bunnies on the cake. Cake also has swan pillars and we will be arriving to the reception in a row boat made into a giant swan… so yeah it’s all pretty eccletic but matches us perfectly ๐Ÿ™‚

tmpierson:  Thanks! ๐Ÿ’— I think a theme can help tie it all together, but really the event is a wedding, and the theme is the couple!

We entered a few giveaways! So our linens and candelabra centerpieces were free. And our decor was all from home, so not much extra cost there either. We also got married in the off-season, so our vendor prices were slightly lower. ๐Ÿ˜Š

My best advice is to assemble your favourite photos- top 15. Figure out what unifying things are in the photos, and build up your ideas from there. I did this and discovered I liked gold, pastels, vintage-y accents and natural element like trees, flowers, branches, etc. That helped me figure out what “theme” to go with.

tmpierson:  We are having picnic baskets on the tables. We have been buying them at flea markets and antique stores, so each one is unique. It will be the same theme for each table, but none of them will match.

tmpierson:  ooo I am a pisces too!!! Eccletic is our speciality ๐Ÿ™‚ Wedding was yesterday and we pulled it all off!!! Still on such a high! Trust me it will all come together (even if the horse people are super late and everyone is sweating it out waiting) we had our first surf this morning in full dress and suit so there is the water element for you and me both.. Will do a recap but best day of my life.. Yours will be too.. Don’t sweat the small stuff.. I had a ton of disasters and missed things but no one noticed!!! Xxx
