I’m having my shower Thanksgiving weekend, because my mom’s hosting and that’s when I’ll be home. I’ll be about 34 weeks. Then a work friend just offered to throw me a shower in the city I live in, and that’s going to be the next weekend, because that’s when we’re both available. It’s a risk because you don’t want it too late – you might go into labor. I think 26-34 weeks is sort of the optimal time.

Thanks everyone I’m still waiting on my mom to make a final decision, but I think it will be Nov. 16th or Dec 7th. We’ll see I hate waiting till the last minute…but what can you do when someone else is throwing the shower?
Anyway I also learned my DHs family is throwing me one on Dec 14th so yeah…

Those sound like great dates! I’m due in February with twins, and I definitely did not want to wait till January to have my showers. My Mother-In-Law is throwing me a shower on the Friday after Thanksgiving with mostly DH’s hometown friends and MIL’s friends. It will be a sort of open house type thing that makes it easy for people to come and go as it fits with their schedules. We’re also having one with just my friends on Sunday, 12/15. Agree that having a December shower is hectic for people, but it was the only date that would work with everyone’s schedules. Also, people really do feel very festive that time of year. I think it will be quite fun!

I am due Jan 19th. My shower is Oct 20. I wouldnt have wanted it later than the end of Nov but mainly because I really want to know we have the things we need and the more time we have to get them the better. Also because I wanted a Halloween themed shower~! I think anytime is November is best. I know holiday parties start at the end of Nov for some people and December is a terrible month for most financially lol. Have fun planning!! 🙂 Our babes will be here soon!!

I’m due Feb 13th, and my shower (in Vermont) is 11/2!
I voted 12/7 for yours. That’s when I wanted mine, but Darling Husband was worried about blizzards!
