I’ve been told that most people who are extremely late can chalk it up to the fact that they based their due date off of their LMP, when they might not have ovulated at the standard 14 days.
For those who knew the date that they ovulated, when did you end up giving birth?
Our LMP places our due date at July 27, but our ovulation date puts us at August 1. The ultrasounds have showed him as one day ahead, so I’m pretty confident that August 1 is pretty accurate. Obviously I don’t have a clue when the baby will come, but LMP vs ovulation date is almost a week difference, so I can see that I could be a week overdue, when in reality it would be right on track…

Very accurate, like within a few days before what I was told for each due date.

Your O date should be more accurate. I happened to have O’d on day 14 the cycle I got pregnant but if I had O’d a few days later (normal for me was CD 15 or 16) I would have lied about my LMP by 2 days so my EDD would be accurate. It shouldn’t matter except when it comes to being induced and I was already induced once so I’d like to avoid it. Dr’s will go by your LMP unless you’ve had an ultrasound far enough off from that so they have reason to change the dates.

Using LMP assumes a 28 days cycle and day 14 O date which is not the case for many women.
With my first pregnancy I never had a dating ultrasound. LMP put me at April 16th, O date at April 22nd. Birth date was 2 May!
This pregnancy I did have a dating ultrasound. LMP put me at June 17th, O date at June 21st and ultrasound at June 23rd. I’ve yet to see how this one turns out! ☺

My ovulation date based off temping and OpK was Jan 27, I had him 2 weeks early on Jan 15.

LMP had Aug 5. Ovulation had Aug 10. Had her July 13 so very early (and no issues at all).

LMP put me in Jan 25, ovulation and dating ultrasound Jan 24. I was induced on Feb 8, when I was 42+1 weeks pregnant and Dear Daughter was finally born via Caesarean the next day.

EDD based on LMP was Sept 20. Based on O date was Sept 18. At my dating ultrasound they moved my EDD to Sept 13. He was born Sept 5.

My EDD based on LMP would have been April 1, but I was charting and knew I ovulated on CD 21 so my real EDD was April 7. Early ultrasounds showed me measuring right on target for April 7.
ETA: And I was induced at 37 weeks, so he was born at 37w3d and perfectly healthy on March 20.

It’s become standard now to do a very early ultrasound to determine a more accurate due date. Those are extremely accurate. Did you have one?

My lmp due date would’ve been April 23, May 2 by o date. Dating ultrasound gave me a due date of May 3. She was born April 30.

Mine would have been WAAAAY off if we went by LMP because I have aggrivatingly long cycles. LMP put me at EDD of 11/6. Based on ovulation, and confirmed by dating u/s my EDD was 11/18. He was born on 11/11 (39 weeks).

My due date based on ovulation was 10/4, based on LMP it would have been 9/29. I gave birth on 10/1.

With my first I gave birth the day after my due date.
With my second it was 2 days after.
With my third who knows 🙂 only a couple months left!
