ashlauren22:  Those look adorable.  I baked a sweet n salty buffet for my guests and they loved it (90% of our guests had to travel, so I thought it’d be nice for them to have snacks on the plane).

We had individual gooey butter cakes (a St. Louis orginal/traditional dessert) baked and boxed by a local bakery – we had around 100 guests and we ordered 115 cakes. We had three left, ha!

I think packaging is important, though – ours looked nice and professional so people took them. A cousin did those cake ball things, and she made them at home…and you could tell. Ick. Left those on the table. I’d probably take your jam, but I wouldn’t use it. I’m also really skeevy about eating stuff from other people’s homes.

Am doing personalised rock candy in a flavour that we think would be okay with our guests. The bulk come separated into little packets which saves us the hassle, the only thing we have to do is tie it with some ribbon with a small thank you note attached.

With any leftovers, we’ll just collect them from each table and save it up to eat it all ourselves since there’s 6 months shelf life anyway. : )

I’m planning to do macaroons in little favor boxes with our monogram on them. I love edible favors!
