Hi ladies! Starting to think about my bridesmaids gifts and I’d love some advice! I’m between two gifts, and I can’t decide which one to buy. I have a very small, casual wedding with my two closest cousins as my bridesmaids. It’s a pretty laid back affair of about 65 people, because I wanted to be able to afford to have the nicest wedding possible for my budget. Anyway, so both of my bridesmaids are into traveling and such, so I was thinking about getting them custom monogrammed weekender bags off of etsy. Like this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/472637020/monogrammed-quilted-duffle-bag-bowler?ref=hp_rv.
But then a friend of mine mentioned maybe doing nice big fuzzy bathrobes (like the nice victorias secret ones) with a monogram. I want them to be useful gifts that wont just be used for the wedding date and then forgotten about. What do you guys think? Which would you prefer?
Any other suggestions ladies? I’d love to hear them below. I’m also at a loss for groomsman gifts. My fiance’s best friend, an academic artsy type, and his brother, who is into videogames and football. Any ideas?

Monogramming is very polarizing. Some people love it, some people like me hate it. Do you friends own other monogrammed type things?

I travel alot and love the idea of the bag, but I dont like the style of the bags in your link. I would go for a leather (with or without monogram) or one color style. If you know the bag is definitely your bridesmaids tastes then go for the bag otherwise I would find a plainer one (I dont like to stand out when I travel, especially in some countries) or go for the robe.

I like the idea of a weekender bag but I don’t think it needs to be monogrammed. Also I’m sorry but I think the weekender bags you posted are incredibly ugly and childish looking. I think you could find something much nicer!

I like the bag or robe idea WITHOUT the monogram. Although I’m personally not a fan of THOSE bags you posted. Looks like something I’ve seen a lot of teenagers carry around.

I voted for the bag before I saw your link. I would definitely choose another bag.
I would not do monograms.

Those bags look like diaper bags.
A good advice that goes around on here is to shop like it’s their birthday, so it might mean different gifts for each bridesmaid. I’m getting mine a small leather shoulder bag by her favourite designer and a small bag filled with pamper products. I will add a bottle of wine – she gets spolit because she’s my only bridesmaid.

I would try to get each of them something a little more personal. It’s easy to slap someone’s name or monogram on a bag and call it “personalized” but truly thoughtful gifts match a person’s personality.

Personally I would go with satin robes, unmonogramed, if it was going to be either bags or robes. If your budget is $40 each, what about getting them bubble bath gift sets, or something like that?
For the groomsmen maybe Amazon gift cards? Or alcohol?

I don’t think either of them would go for satin robes or bubble bath sets, it’s not really their style… I know that they’re both into the whole quilted vera bradly thing, which was why I thought those would be a good idea. Do you have any ideas for nicer bags? They both do have monogrammed stuff, another reason I thought it would be a good idea. Yikes! Now I’m terrified!
Any other suggestions? I’m completely lost here!

Cozy house slippers is what I’d like. Can’t have enough of them.

I’d get a leather type weekender bag, more classic!

I know many say that robes are overdone, but I’ve never gotten one. I’d like one! Big enough though I’m considered plus size so I’d hate to get one that didn’t close. But that said is like a nice floral pattern. 🙂

I like the idea of a weekend bag too. I’m not a huge fan of the ones you linked to, but I’m also not a ruffle and bow person.
The other idea of a fluffy tube is awesome too! I think I just need to buy myself a robe bc I want one. Lol.

Don’t let people freak you out here! You don’t have to please the bee with your gifts, just your cousins, and you know them best. If you think your cousins will love the bags or robes then go for it!
