Im not in edmonton, but am planning a Vancouver area wedding. As Edmonton is a major city I would assume a minnimum of 1-1.5 years. Sometimes you can luck out and get one within less time. Depends also if you are set on specific dates, if you care about Friday wedding or Saturday wedding, in the city, in the outer areas etc. I would start looking at venues asap and call ones you might be interested in and asking them how far in advance they book up, what their availability is for the timeline youre thinking at this time.

Good luck!

At least a year in advance if you can. Especially if you have somewhere specific in mind. Things book up fast here! Good luck.

I booked the gorgeous hotel macdonald. 14 months in advance is important if you want a Saturday wedding in the summer

We booked the Yellowhead Brewery in November 2013 for our wedding in April 2015.  It was wide open at that point.

Jenabaronn1984:  I did last minute everything for our wedding so I am of no use but i HIGHLY reccomend checking out the yellowhead brewery. My Brother-In-Law, who is a red seal chef, said it was some of the best food hes ever eaten, period.

  • Wedding: July 2017

We booked the Matrix hotel in March for our July 2017 wedding. Some places don’t open up booking until a year before your date, but some open it up a year and a half in advance.
