I’m in Calgary and I got my fake ring from Aldo.

I also have Birks rings and I love them! I’m lucky because my Mother-In-Law works for Birks (in Edmonton actually) and so I didn’t have to wait that long to gety engagement ring remounted.

This got me wondering, why is it fine for people to call other pieces of jewelry fake but get fucking crazy when they use this term on rings? We all know the difference between fine jewelry and not, so why do people still get upset over this term. Sometimes it makes me think why some women care so much over things that don’t matter.

anyway, I’m on the hunt for a fake stand in ring too, and I suggest you check out the department store. I’ve seen really good ones for ad low as $5 in mine.

I can’t believe there is drama over the word “fake”. People just need to calm the fack down.

I’d try Ardene’s or Claire’s.

Cuz so so many on this site have simulants like moissanite/cz/asha (ie perceived as “fake diamonds“)  in their “real” setting engagement rings.. people are overly sensitive….While I sympathize, don’t think there should be an expectation that others must change their verbiage (or perception) to accomodate though…

Fake fake fake fake. It’s a word. If ppl have nothing better to do that get all pissed off about the word fake, then they are truly privileged to live that way. And it would be a fake ring, who cares?

@This Time Round:  I have a Moissanite engagement ring, which many people on WB consider a “fake diamond” and I am not offended/hurt by the use of the word FAKE in the OP. In My Humble Opinion it’s really important to look at context and not just word choice. Looking at the context, it’s pretty obvious what the OP meant.

Agreed! I have a couple of fake rings from there. I love them and they have great sales.

as I am more of a tell it like it is person I understand where both sides are coming from. The pp’s were making you aware of the sensitivity around the word. There have been many blow ups about it so sometimes it’s not worth the headache when you can simply rephrase the sentence. I love all jewelry! Macys has some nice cz and low spec rings if you want to go that route
