Hi Jezika

I took the plunge and ordered the dress I wanted.  I may add it cost almost as much as your wedding dress!!! This gives me rather high hopes for a lovely evening gown.  I have been emailing back and forth with Paris and she is prompt in her replies and helpful when it comes to colours and a wrap of the same fabric.  I didn’t find ordering on their site that easy because I wanted to put a comment in about the wrap being of the same material and I seemed unable to do this.  Anyway I’ve emailed and been told that it will all be okay.  Now I need to pay but there is a discrepancy between what the “grand total” is and what paypal want when I go to pay, am waiting for customer service to tell me what is going on.  Paris seemed to want to have me pick a size out of their guide which I refused since I fall neatly between a US 10 and 12, she now tellss me the dress will be made to my measurements (Igave her a bundle of them). I am yet to request a photo but I figured I wanted to pay first and then approach her for a photo of the dress before it gets shipped out.  I’ve asked for a deliver date mid September so from what I can see that should be enough time to make and post the dress to me.  This has been both an interesting and very stressful adventure!

@Jezika:  I’m both excited and nervous but also relieved to have decided on a dress. It’s not a very fancy dress but bear in mind I’m 50 yrs old so I don’t want to be ridiculous.  I have ordered a wrap to go with it and the fabric is navy blue satin and chiffon. Its by far not the most beautiful or fabulous dress on dressilyme’s site but it’s the style that I know will suit me, I tried on dozens of dresses to get the right neckline.  I will probably wear a long dangly, slim blingy silver necklace and dangly silver earrings and blingy bracelets up my arm.  I have silver shoes to wear with it.  I don’t mind you asking at all 🙂  Paris reckons my dress will be ready in 3 weeks so I imagine a month from now I’ll have it in my grubby paws (scary scary thought). I promise to post pictures and I’ll also post how the progress of the dress goes so others can get a good idea of how dressily me works.  I’ve had a reply from the query section about the wrap I ordered so it would appear that that is organised now I’m waiting for them to tell me why the charges change as soon as I go t paypal to pay!

@Jezika:  I’m so close to taking the plunge. Just working with Coco at the moment in presales. I found a pic online and am asking them to replicate it. With a few minor changes.

What fabric did they use for your dress? it looks amazing.

Your dress looked stunning on you before! (when you were standing infront of a mirror) but now it is just amazing!, the bust area isn’t that bad at all, i’m a bit of a perfectionist, but it makes it look kind of unique. Also did you order the dress from their website or did you provide them with a picture?

@Jezika:  My turn to go eeeeeek, my dress is now in transit!!!! Yay,  another week or so to go and I’ll be able to look at it for real.  Didn’t get a photo so have no idea what I’ll receive – bit scary but mostly exciting!  They were good enough to make a wrap of the same chiffon material as the dress (didn’t want satin – too shiny) so of course I’m dying to know that they did get that right – need to have faith.  Once it gets here the photo will be posted.  Can’t wait.

@Jezika:  I am totally blown away, I received an email on Saturday to say my dress was in transit and it arrived on my desk at work today – huh – how do they do that?? So fast.

The dress is very much like the picture I chose, I would say that the inverted v under the bust is not as pronounced, it’s not terrible just not as much as in the picture and I find the gathering in the front seems to be more or perhaps it’s less fine.  Other than that the dress is identical.  The back of it is very pretty and actually has a V, the boning needs to be bent into shape (if one can do such a thing) as one of the top parts of the V sticks out a bit and doesn’t lie flat like the other side.  The dress is beautifully made, beautifully lined and quite heavy (much heavier than I expected and certainly heavier than any $500 dress I tried on in the boutiques and shops.

The only real snag I have is that it is tight across my behind. I measured my hips not my bum (which is definitely there!) and as the dress seemed to drop straight down from under the bust I wasn’t that worried except that the lined satin underdress is very fitted and too tight across my backside, I am pretty sure that a visit to a seamstress will be all that is needed to let those seams out.  I don’t want her to mess with the zip and I do think I could probably do it myself but this dress is made so well I don’t want to spoil it, I feel that even if there isn’t enough fabric in the seams that some could be let in and no one would know because of the chiffon overlay.

The wrap they made for me is double chiffon (I only wanted a single layer to keep it transparent) but made well too, it matches my dress perfectly and was cheap for about $15.

All in all I am thrilled, I will post pictures soon, perhaps I’ll make my own thread to show it to others, particularly those looking for bridesmaid’s dresses or rehearsal dresses etc.  I’ve taken photos of the packaging and one of the dress folded inside out.  I need to take a full length one and once I’ve fixed the folds that don’t quite sit right I’ll take a photo of me in it.  I think your dress Jezika had the folds that didn’t sit quite right well mine’s like that too, I’ve seen how they do tiny holding stitches and I can definitely do that myself.  Incidentally no weird smells as I’ve seen discussed either.  I would definitely order from them again.

I’ve also emailed Paris to thank her for her efforts and once more asked her to please consider doing photos even if it delays shipping by 2 or 3 days as if I’d seen pics I would have got them to fix the folds/pleats and to straighten the boning at the back.  The fact that it’s tight across my behind would have been my problem since I did the measuring – good lesson learned though!!

@Jezika:  Hey i have decided not to go with dressilyme after all. they couldn’t do some modifications which i asked for. I must say though that their customer service is top notch. You look amazing. Can’t wait to see pics of you in your dress on the big day.

I love your dress and actually saw your comment on their site. Do you feel like the dress is comfortable? For sitting and dancing? Many people say that mermaid styles are hard to dance in so I’m nervous to get one
