On my original ring, the clawprongs were not symmetrical due to an unevenly cut stone. They tried to fix it multiple times before eventually scrapping it and picking a new stone for a new ring.

In my experience with trying to communicate the assymetry, I took the photo on my phone, went to “crop it” and screen shotted the cropping view when the grid was showing. That helped them.

So if you can get a straight on photo of the ring, put a grid over it so that it’s clear to see the irregularity. Sometimes others can’t see the perfectionists’ view when they’ve stared at the thing for hours at a time.

On of my claw prongs is a little off due to the cut of my stone.  It bothered me for about a millisecond when I first picked it up and now I don’t even notice it.
