Isn’t it amazing when you discover incredible generosity like that? So far our most stupendous benefactors have been FMIL’s coworker and my mom’s cousin, of all people! Love it.

Oooooh that is awesome! I was totally thinking that about my registry too! Like “Why am I going through all this for tiny kitchen gadgets? No ones gonna wanna give us this stuff!” That is sooo nice of your guest!

I just saw that the large Le Crueset pot I’ve been dying for has been purchased. Totally unexpected. So exciting. I use my medium sized pot all the time – it never even makes it back into the cabinet.

People are SUPER generous at weddings, I’ve discovered.  I added an expensive silverware storage box from Crate and Barrel to our registry, thinking no one would buy it.  It was one of those things I wanted but figured I wouldn’t get.  BUT, not only did someone buy it for us (for the shower, no less) they also bought the set of serving utensils!  That was like a $175 shower gift.

I have been surprised by people’s generosity too. We put an $800 China hutch on our C&B registry thinking that either 1) a few families would go in on it together or 2) we would get the completion discount when no one bought it. Someone bought it! I feel reallt guilty actually, but they told my mom it’s a joint graduation/wedding gift…but still!
