If I were you I would go back to the jewelry store and tell them that they need to fix the errors, give you a brand new ring OR that you want your money back.  Like you said you paid good money for a ring and you should receive what you paid for.  I wouldn’t leave the store until I was satisfied with the response. Good Luck.

I can’t see what you’re talking about in the photos, but I’m sure that it just didn’t get picked up. Can you take a photo on a macro setting? That would help show the detail more. I wouldn’t settle for bad craftsmanship. I would insist that they fix it for free of charge or give a full refund and find a ring elsewhere.

I wouldn’t give up until I’m satisfied with their resolution. That’s how I treat most issues, unless they are very minor, which this is not.

@MissSeaTurtles:  i can’t believe simon g wouldn’t stand behind their work.  is this jewellery store an authorized simon g dealer?

they claim that only one side will look perfect.  i don’t think so.  i would tell them if you are only getting a 1/2 perfect ring, then you should only pay 1/2 the price of a perfect one.

i would be contacting simon g directly.

@MissSeaTurtles:  this is the only side pic I have, and honestly I wouldn’t know which side was which unless I could see the engraving inside the shank in the pic to orient myself.  Both sides looked identical though, and were perfect.  The problems I had started while re-setting my centre stone when their goldsmith damaged the setting.  The ring was perfect when we got it brand new.

@mypinkshoes:  This exactly! You deserve to be 100% pleased with your ring, it will be worn a lifetime. I can see where the right square looks nice, but the left square looks more like a trapezoid, and the open filigree part on the lower surface of the rose gold squares looks wavy instead of smooth. I sincerely hope they straighten this situation out, and either fix this setting or give you a brand new one. Beautiful setting, btw!
