That’s very exciting. I don’t think that some guys understand (my SO) that being engaged brings a little security. So even though you aren’t all the a way there it’s still a sense of comfort for the woman. Although we have both agreed on a Spring 2012 wedding, my SO thinks I just want the marriage but I would still like to enjoy the engagement a little bit. Sheesh! And that time is running out. I’ve always wanted to be engaged for 9-12 months. But at this rate it will be 8 months or shorter. And we’re nearing 4 years now which will be almost 5 years by the time we actually wed so I feel like anything longer is no bueno. Good Luck!

@ChicChick: TRUE! I feel like actions speak louder than words. We talk a lot about the future and what WE want to do regarding wedding, family, etc. But yet you are stalling and not “putting a ring on it”. Men don’t understand that just because we’re engaged doesn’t mean “pressure”. We won’t always have to get married immediately. If you stand by your word then why can’t we get engaged like NOW! Since we’ve already discussed this and you and I BOTH agree that’s the next step. What’s the hold up???
