Now the waiting crazies really begin…
Last night during dinner, Boyfriend or Best Friend and I were talking about what we want to do this weekend. I am in visiting him for a couple of weeks on my winter break from school (we are doing long distance, me in Ohio, him in British Columbia). I was suggesting things to do, and he revealed to me that he has made dinner reservations for us tonight at a special restaurant in Vancouver, *and* there some sort of after dinner activity!
I have no idea what this could be, and had no idea this was coming! I’m thinking this isn’t *it* though…I’m pretty sure (but not positive) that the ring is still with his family in Texas. I have no real reason to think that, they could have shipped it out to him…I’m just not sure I see that happening.
Anyways, even though I don’t think that is going to be the big moment, I am all nervous and excited. I didn’t bring any really fancy clothes with me or anything like that. I am going to have to try to make myself look good with what I’ve got. I’m pretty sure it’s not going to happen tonight, but the part of me that thinks it possibly could is going CRAZY!

Thanks for the kind words ladies!
I was right – no proposal, but it was a really fun evening!
He took me to the Capilano suspension bridge – it was crazy awesome – they have these little nature trails and a set of suspension bridges through the treetops (in addition to the GIANT suspension bridge over a canyon) and everything was all lit up with christmas lights. Even though it was raining, it was lots of fun, and even pretty romantic.
Then after we did that, he took me out to dinner at the Samba Brazillian steakhouse in downtown Vancouver. We were expecting/hoping for it to be more like Fogo de Chao, which it wasn’t, but it was still a great meal.
He did *REALLY* play up the surprise factor though – he made me blindfold myself for the entire hour long drive into the city. In addition, when we first got into the car, he pretended to take a phone call – he was saying things like “Yeah, we’re on our way…should be about an house. No man, you can only ask yes or no questions.” Things like that totally made me think for a while that it really could be *the* moment! He loves sort of playing tricks on me like that.

Wow that sounds like so much fun! Sorry it wasn’t what you were ultimately hoping for (and a little mean on his part!!) But if you think about it… if he went to this much trouble to plan a fun/romantic evening out… then just imagine how awesome your proposal will be!!!

Hmmm, too bad, but still sounds like a fun night.
When you finally get here, keep an eye on the Vancouver boards. We’re hopefully planning another meetup for the new year.
