I’m very fair skinned and will be getting married in early September. I don’t attempt to tan or use any fake tan- I totally embrace my pastey-ness, but I usually wind up picking up some color- usually in the form of a v-neck tan line. I’m worried that I already picked up some from yesterday (bridal shower out doors). I’m planning on seriously dredging myself in spf 70 and crew neck shirts for the rest of the summer, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to fade the tan lines? Or can anyone suggest a subtle version of the build-up self tan lotion?
Thanks!!

I love Jergen’s Natural Glow lotion. It gradually darkers your skin as it moisturizes, plus it doesn’t leave you looking orange. I usually use it throughout the summer!

@FutureMrs.Wood: Definitely!
I love those gradual tanning lotions; just try not to get one that stinks! I have a hard time finding “normal” smelling ones, but I’ve found that the ones from Bath and Body Works (can’t remember the name…) are best for me. But with those you have to be diligent about putting it on because it’s gradual so the more you put it on the more your tanlines will even out.

yeah, I’m so afraid of this too! My wedding is in late October, so I’m not too worried about it for that (I might fake’n’bake for a couple weeks before that, just to make sure I have a tiny bit of even color all over,)
Right now I’m worried about it for b-pix that I’m having in 1.5 weeks, so I’m seriously just not even going to go in the sun until after that so I don’t even have to worry about it!

My best tip is to exfoliate regularly.

My daily lotion has spf 15 and I apply it everyday in the morning
If I’m going to be in the sun for extended period of time I use a regular suncreen and make sure I get every exposed part of my body.
There a few that don’t have that sunscreen smell, Alba makes one but I’ve heard good things about Bath and Body works sunscreen.

Thanks guys! Lol good to know I’m not the only one who’s paranoid! I’ll see how long I can live like a hermit vampire and if I get some color I’ll try the lotion. Do you think it’d rub off on the dress? I guess I’m just nervous since I’ve never done it before- I guess it’s better not to be florescent white on my wedding day anyway! Thanks again for the suggestions!! 🙂

@JoJo Bananas: I agree!
I have a medium complexion that will carry my tan lines from this summer through to next spring. Tube tobs and a strapless suit are ready but walking from the car to the store somehow managed to get a really really bad tank top strap tan line from the minute I was outside!! Great…
Exfoliate with a scrub and loofah on a daily basis until it fades. Unless you are familiar with a tanning lotion that works with your skin I would avoid it. Better to brush some bronzer on your “sun spots” than to have an orange tone.
