I’m so excited! Backstory – I love colored stones, specifically blue sapphire. In our religious tradition, the groom gives his bride a ring without any embellishments or adornments. It’s supposed to symbolize equality (honestly, I don’t remember exactly what it’s supposed to symbolize. I’d have to go back and ask my rabbi.)
Anyway…I have wanted to have a blue sapphire and diamond wedding band for as long as I could remember. It’s a common design and nothing unique, necessarily. We had talked about getting me one shortly after we got married, but then babies came along, and a new house, and life, etc. The ring kind of fell by the wayside.
Yesterday we were out shopping and, in one store, we stopped by their jewelry case to look around. And there it was. The Ring. The one I’d been looking for. Stars aligned, budgets were in the right place and we bought it.
I had to come and show it off! I hope you won’t mind.
On its own:
With my engagement ring as my wedding set.
