Someone might have posted this already, but y’all do know that the american version used to substitute the N word for tiger, right?

Now that you post some of these other versions, I remember the ‘I know I know my ma’ parts, and the ‘Dark is like a movie, a movie’s like a show,’ and we’d say something about ‘dirty dirty dishrag on your knee’ part too! Apparently we just sang whichever part we remembered that day.

Oooho, does anyone remember the clapping/hand circle game?-

WOAH. I seriously had no idea that the N word used to be used instead of tiger. I’m really disturbed right now. What the hell? Why would people teach their kids things like that?!

That said, I did the “out goes Y-O-U” version. But if it landed on a person you didn’t want out, you could go, “…aaannd, my mother told me to pick the very best one and you are not IT!”

Loved the Miss Suzie’s! What about this one?

Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack

All dressed in Black, Black, Black

with silver buttons, buttons, buttons

all down her back, back back

she asked her mother, mother mother

for fifteen cents, cents, cents

to see the elephants, elephants, elephants

jump over the fence, fence, fence

they jumped so high, high, high

they touched the sky, sky, sky

and they never came back, back, back

until the fourth of july, ly, ly.

Anyone?!

@Miss Fish: We did Miss Mary Mack as well, with a clapping/hand pattern as well.

@Miss Fish: How could people teach their kids that? We used to have segregation, and before that we had slavery. I don’t doubt what people can teach their kids. :/
