Hi! This is my first board post on Wedding Bee and I’m not quite sure how to go about doing this…but I could really use some help. I got engaged a couple of weeks ago and am now trying to plan a wedding in 6 months (we’re getting married in July 2008) while working full-time! So far, things have gone relatively smoothly but I’m really hitting a rut with the bridesmaid dresses…I am looking for:
- Preferably a yellow (more buttery than super bright) or a light blue color…however, I am still open to other colors as well as long as they are "summery" and light colors
- Preferably dresses that are sold retail and in-stores (Nordstrom, J.Crew, etc.) so that my BMs don’t have to worry about getting the dress shipped and altered in time for the wedding.
- To make matters even more difficult, some of my bridesmaids are still students in graduate school so I would really like to keep the dress costs capped at $150 MAXIMUM…
Honestly, is this all even possible? I would REALLY REALLY appreciate any advice or suggestions any of you may have…I am having a hard time seeing the light at the end of the tunnel tonight so I just thought I would send an S.O.S. out there into the land of Wedding Bees and see if I got a response… 🙂
Hope to hear from you! Thanks! 🙂

Ann Taylor has their Averie, which comes in light blue, on sale right now for $60. There was also a weddingbee coupon for additional 25% off, although I can’t remember how long it was good for… it looks like there is still a good range of sizes left.
JCrew has a yellow called sour lemon this spring – it may be brighter than you are looking for, and at any rate those dresses are about $250.
Nordstrom has some cute spring dresses for around $150; you can search on their site by color. Their yellows are a little lighter but still more lemony than buttery.

FYI, Nordstrom does free exchanges by mail in case your BMs get the wrong size the first try. They will also ship free if you are in a city where there is a Nordstrom and the dress is not in stock.

I know it’s not everyones cup of tea – but Davids Bridal has A LOT of creamy yellow colors and they are nomally in a month after ordered with alterations taking little to no time. Plus they are everywhere so no one has to worry about shipping.

Suzanno – that’s exactly the dress I was thinking of when I read this post. I LOVE that dress.
