(Closed) Effect vs. Affect gets me EVERY TIME. What grammar mistakes are you guilty of?

@LiliKitty:  @Roe:  Haha, it’s so common in the Midwest, I don’t think any of us ever think twice about it! I usually type how I speak, except maybe in grammar-specific threads and at work where I do a fair bit of editing. 

@ebet24:  Further/farther always gets me, too!

None. I love grammar and diagram sentences for fun. I make mistakes while quickly typing posts or use colloquial English instead of formal English, but when it’s time to be grammatical, I am.

@anemonie:  I always remember Finding Forester with further and farther…further is figurative and farther is literal.  However, according to the dictionary, there doesn’t seem to be an actual usage difference as long as you don’t use farther in writing, as in, “Farther, the evidence points to blah blah blah” lol

I am terrible about “definitely”. I swear for 23 years of my life, I spelled it “definately”.  It embarasses me to even admit that, lol.
