I couldn’t have a little girl walking around with my eyes or a little boy with my smile and not know her/him. My whole life would be a series of what if’s.

I would only if I was finished having children.  And I would only donate to my sister.

I would maybe consider it for a very close family member or friend but other than that, no, I don’t feel comfortable with it. At least with a close family member or friend, you know what happens to the egg and whether it really turns into a little person but otherwise, it’s weird to think that maybe there’s a child with my DNA out there – maybe or maybe not. In the case of giving up a child for adoption, at least you know s/he exists out there somewhere and you may even know who the adopted parents are.

DH is absolutely against me donating eggs for any reasons, even if it was a family member. He’s not even sure if he would be comfortable with me as a surrogate due to the risks involved. We know of someone who donated eggs multiple times and it wasn’t due to financial hardship but for extra goodies she couldn’t otherwise afford, such as breast augmentation surgery. DH definitely did not agree with that decision.

I would, but I’m pretty sure you don’t get paid for that in Canada. I don’t see eggs or sperm as anything personal yet, so I have no problems donating them for money. The weird part I guess is that I think I remember reading somewhere that children born from sperm donors have the right to track down their ‘fathers’ and get child support? If that’s the case then no, I would not do it. I have no attachment to my eggs so I wouldn’t want to end up paying for them.
