My main wedding color is purple…eggplant/plum to be more precise. Green is a secondary color and a burnt-orange an accent color. I am going to have my bm’s in “lapis” (thats the dark purple from Davids Bridal) dresses. At the reception I’m using white table cloths and satin runners on each table…only problem. I don’t know if I want to buy plum satin runners or a willow green satin runner to contrast the purple. I am planning on having purple uplighting around the room as well.. what do you ladies think? Plum or Green satin table runners?!

I’d either go with a textured or see through type purple or the green. I don’t think the bridesmaids dresses should match the table runners.

If it’s a really dominant uplighting & there are other purple items on the table, I’d go with green, but if you aren’t introducing purple to the tables any other way, I’d go with purple.

I am doing a very similar color scheme as you and I am also using the lapis dresses from DB. What I did was bought a lapis swatch from DB and took it with me to the linen stores. I was advised not to have my tables be the same (attempted) color as my Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses but I still think I am aiming towards eggplant tables. Its not like your BM’s will be taking pictures next to your tables all night but they shouldn’t clash. I think either gren or eggplant would be beautiful but if all of your tables are green that will end up being your dominant color vs a secondary color.

What kind of centerpieces will you have? If you have purple flowers, then I’d go with the green table runner so there’s contrast. I don’t think it’s a big deal that the runner not match the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses though because it’s just a runner versus a whole overlay.
