I personally like the eggplant better, but I like the gray too. Be careful, though, gray (especially that color) doesn’t look good on everyone, and can wash out  some people and make them look sick. I think it depends on your bridesmaids.

Grey. 100% Eggplant dresses are way too matchy-matchy for the chairs. No one wants to match the furniture!

I’m a little biased, but I like the purple 🙂 If you want to include the grey you can always have the guys have grey vests/ties

I love the eggplant but think the BM’s would be too matchy matchy with the chairs/ table cloth so think you should go with the grey.

Pewter Grey – it matches the chairs but not in a matchy matchy way – plus the grey color looks good on all skin tones (i am having pewter at my wedding and it looks great on all my bridesmaids)

I would vote gray just so they’d stand out more in the room, maybe with an eggplant sash if it made sense with the dress? But really either would look good, I think you should try the bridesmaids in both colors and see which looks better on them. It’s more important the color “matches” their complexions and looks nice on them all day than that it matches the decor.

The eggplant is just so popular. I know gray is too but I feel like all 4 of the weddings I was in the past summer were eggplant/purple color!

Plus I feel gray is more classic and will stand the test of time more.

I was not planning on going with a purple color, but when I we went to try on Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, one was wearing the purple and it was beautiful. We were all torn between grey and purple, pretty much the exact shade of your pics. The purple was more rich and made the girls skin look more rich, and was just happier, so that’s what we picked. Just hold up the colors next to everyone and see what looks the best! ( I have a brunette, and blond, and a redhead who all looked amazing!)

I like both but I’m a bit biased as my girls are wearing grey and I will be wearing the eggplant colour
