Good morning ladies! Hope all the mothers out there had a great day yesterday!
Google searching has failed me, so I’m hoping the great and powerful Bee can help! I’m looking for pictures of rings with eight prongs. I love the look of 6-prong rings, but I have a square-cut stone, so I’m thinking 8 prongs achieves a similar look. Apparently though, it’s not a very popular/common style… the best I’ve found is a few 10-prong round cuts.
So! Anyone out there with 8-prong rings? I’m looking specifically for cushion cuts but I’ll take anything else as well! 🙂

NFLwidow: Haha you found all the same pictures I have in my inspiration folder!
MstoMrsH: GORGEOUS! Would you mind telling me a little about the ring? Specs, where it’s from, etc?

alexinboston: It’s beautiful! It seems that more prongs is vintage thing. I love that the more you have the more secure the stone is, and with so many the prongs can be smaller which I think just enhances the look of the stone so much!

cherami: Meant to type text but I was looking for an old thread of a woman making a cusom ring that looked similar to mine (they both look like a crown in profile) with 8 prongs. Hers was some sort of square stone, can’t remember if it was cushion or radiant/princess. I’ll keep looking and if it comes up I’ll post it for you.

cherami: It’s a custom replicate of an antique style. Platinum band with 8 G-H diamonds. Ring size is 5.25ish and the center stone is an Amora Gem hearts and arrows cut, 1.65 carat F colored VVS2.

I have 4 double claw prongs on an OMC, so technically I have 8 prongs even though they’re not evenly spaced out. I don’t know if that’s something you’re looking for but here are some pics of cushions with double claw prongs.

MstoMrsH: Ahh an Amora Gem! So gorgeous. I was thinking to myself that stone is so gorgeous, probably a diamond wayy out of my price range and not worth asking. I’m looking to get a H&A cushion when the patents expire in August.

MrsSparkleBee13: I’m between that or a more star-shaped distribution of the prongs (meaning prongs on the corners and the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o clock positions)

cherami: Dont worry about the patent. You can get one now from BTD, they will ship right to your door.
