That dress is gorgeous!  I think I would wear it to the rehearsal dinner–it looks pretty short and it’s totally backless, so might be a little too risque for a daytime event like a shower (unless you wore a cardigan).  But that all depends on how it looks on you.

I bought a bridal shower dress on eBay and when I got it, it was a little too va-va-voom for wedding-related events, so I ended up saving it for wearing out to dinner on the honeymoon.  You can always find an appropriate time to wear a pretty dress Smile

Ok I see it now…..Yooooowzers! that is a sexy dress! I would say rehearsal dinner because you will be sitting a lot and opening presents and possibly bending over/picking up presents etc. at your shower.  That looks like it has to stratigically placed!

In all honesty, in my opinion, I would not choose that dress for either of those two events, where you likely will have a more family-type atmosphere with older relatives and possibly children present. The color and lace are quite lovely; however, the back of the dress and extreme shortness of the skirt do not really lend themselves to a more family-oriented event.

is it that short on you or longer?  The pic could be a 6’1 model and it could be a little longer on OP.

@Firemansgirl:  Oh, please do not interpret it as hating. 🙂 I certainly did not mean it to sound that way. It’s a very beautiful dress, but I wanted to be honest about the issues that I raised.  It’s likely that there may be some guests at those events who may be thinking what I said, and I thought it would be helpful to offer that point of view for your consideration.

Have you tried it on yet? It’s difficult to give my opinion without seeing a picture of you in the dress. But my first thought is that it would be more appropriate for a bachelorette party than a shower or rehearsal dinner. But if you have to choose between those two events, I’d say the dinner.
