I did not, but that is where my sister honeymooned. She did El Dorado Maroma.

So, she used my travel agent (we did Sandals) because apparently the El Dorado’s recommend a few to consult with that know everything there is to know about them and have special perks too.  She got a massage and they were given a room upgrade too.  Luckily my TA is one of the best and totallly recommended on the El Dorado’s websites.  I think she is a special wedding planner there too.  Give her a shout, just tell her Morgan referred you and I know she will personally do it and not one of the other agents there.  VIP Vacations is the company.

[email protected] (she is the one Martha Stewart recommends and YES she is free too!)

I know someone who got married at the El Dorado Royale and she raves about it.  Apparently it is a really nice resort and she had no complaints with her wedding.

We didn’t get married at, but honeymooned at El Dorado Maroma. It’s much smaller than El Dorado Royale, and it was absolutely gorgeous and the food was to die for. I loved it being small, because you really get to know all of the staff there. I have dreams about going back there all of the time. I’m sure all of the El Dorado resorts are great.

@Ms. Noodles:  We don’t know yet, honestly.  We got a discounted rate by booking the El Dorado Steal.

Basically, it’s a promotion that the company does to fill rooms.  I can’t remember how much it was, but the rate we paid was cheaper than that of any of the resorts (may be different now, though).  The only catch is that we don’t know which resort we will be going to until 5 business days before the departure.  We know we are going to *a* El Dorado resort, though. So, we could get one of the less expensive resorts (but still for a cheaper price than booking without the Steal) or the fanciest one (and pay a super low price for it).  Our booked dates will not change and we will get the same level of room wherever we go.  All of the resorts would have us fly into the same airport, so where they end up placing us won’t impact travel plans.

El Dorado (the company) is connected with the only all-inclusive nudist resort in Mexico, so our travel agent called to make sure that there wasn’t a possibility we would get placed there… thankfully that one isn’t included in the Steal! 😉

We honeymooned at El Dorado Royale. LOVED IT!!! I want to be there right now! We saw the chapel and it’s so cute!

The service was fantastic! Everyone we talked to had been there multiple times. We’ll go back again someday.

Congrats and good luck!

I asked the girl I know who got married at El Dorado Royale and here is what she said:

Yeah got married there!! Definately no regrets!!! Not sure who the planner was, cuz they assign you a person and I never met her. If I remember correctly I think her name was like Valeria ?? A few things….we had to have blood work on site–no big deal. Had to be on site for at least 3 business days in order to get married legally. So we flew in Sat…earliest day we could get married was Thurs…which was the 3rd day..crazy but no big deal. I recommend staying in a Casita. We also picked our flowers, cake, colors-chairs etc. all via email back and forth with the planner. Any ??s just ask..I’d love to help out!!! I was a bit nervous doing everything via email, but It turned out GREAT!! See pics…
