I have also heard mixed things about it.  A little while ago there was a boycott amongst brides because the Karisma hotel chain was charging outagous rates for outside vendors.  Best advice I can give is to get a travel agent who has been there.  Our TA has been amazing.  Also ask about outside vendors.  I know this was one of our sticking points was our photographer. She is #1 on our list of must haves for the wedding.  Good luck!  =)

Hey I have been to the el dorado resort and i fell in love with it so I started planning my wedding there and things are a little tough but I know the end result will be perfect! They seem to charge ALOT for anything! A centerpiece I wanted they tried charging me 60 dollars for just the vase! I ended up telling them no and we went back and forth and then they agreed for my prices. It seems like you just have to tell them NO this is what I want for this price and then they seem to be able to do it. Over all the resort is AWESOME the staff is excellent and it is a beautiful place. I think any destination wedding needed patience! Good luck!

My brother got married at El Dorado Royale last October and everyone loved it.  We all fell in love with it so much that now that I am getting married we are going back down to the sister resort Azul Sansatori for our wedding (it is family friendly for those with kids) and then we are moving back to the El Dorado Royale for the honeymoon!

My brother was thrilled with everything from thes service to the pricing.  If there is one thing I would suggest is trying to do it in the off season.  You can get killer deals!!!

I am honeymooning at sensatori I am SOOOO excited. My inlaws own a time share with Karisma which is why we are getting married at el dorado, besides I fell in love with it while I was there and their onsite chapel. I cannot wait to visit sensatori.
